Strawberry Wine

This strawberry wine is delicious when consumed chilled, either alone or paired with fruity desserts or light dishes. Enjoy it during strawberry season and store it to savor throughout the year.

Ingredients

  • 5 kg of strawberries
  • 2.5 L of warm water
  • 1.3 kg of sugar

Preparation steps

  1. Thoroughly wash the strawberries, remove the stems, and roughly mash them to obtain a puree. Transfer the strawberry puree to a large bowl and add the water. Cover the bowl and let it steep at room temperature for 24 hours.
  2. Drain the strawberries by placing them in a cheesecloth, then squeezing them to extract the juice. Melt the sugar in the juice obtained by mixing well.
  3. Pour the mixture into a small barrel and let it ferment at a constant temperature between 20 and 25°C for about 10 days.
  4. Siphon the wine by transferring it to clean and dry bottles. Seal the bottles tightly and muzzle the necks. Store the bottles horizontally in a cellar and let them rest for at least one month before tasting. Serve well chilled.
