Christmas mulled wine
Christmas is a festive time when people enjoy sharing a good meal and good wines. Mulled wine is one of the best ways to enjoy wine during this period. Just heat the wine in a saucepan and add some spices, such as cinnamon or clove. Christmas mulled wine is perfect to warm up after a day spent racing down the slopes or shopping!
Ingredients
- 75 cl red wine
- 1 juice orange (+ zest)
- 2 seeds of cardamom
- 1 Badian
- 100g brown sugar
- 2 cloves
- 1/2 vanilla bean
- 2 cinnamon sticks
Preparation steps
- Squeeze the orange and remove the zest
- In a saucepan mix sugar and wine
- Heat over low heat, stirring
- Open the half vanilla bean in 2 and scrape there to collect the seeds
- Add the vanilla, badian, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom, zest and orange juice to the pan.
- Boil for 4 min
- Get off the heat open the pan and leave like this for 24h
- Just before serving warm the pan with the wine then put the wine in 2 mugs and decorate with a thin slice of orange and cinnamon sticks that are in the pan
