Hot Spritz for an Enchanting Winter
A warm and enchanting twist on the traditional Spritz, this cocktail transports you to the heart of winter by blending the sweetness of honey with the bitterness of Aperol, complemented by a hint of orange. A flavorful escape to savor by a fireplace or on a chilly evening.
If you desire a touch of effervescence, you can add a splash of sparkling water just before serving. This will give your warm winter Spritz a slight sparkle.
Ingredients
- 40 cl dry white wine
- 5 cl bitter orange syrup
- 3 tsp flower honey
- 10 cl Aperol
- 8 cl freshly squeezed orange juice, ideally
- 1 thin orange slice, for garnish
- 1 small sprig of rosemary, for garnish
- 1 cinnamon stick, for garnish
Preparation steps
- In a saucepan, combine the white wine, bitter orange syrup, and honey. Heat gently, making sure not to exceed 70°C (158°F), while stirring to dissolve the honey completely.
- Once the mixture is warm, incorporate the Aperol and freshly squeezed orange juice. Gently stir to blend the flavors.
- Pour your hot Spritz into pre-warmed glasses. Garnish with the orange slice, cinnamon stick, and rosemary sprig for an additional aesthetic and aromatic touch.
- Serve immediately, ensuring the drink stays warm for an optimal taste experience.
